Kinnegar Shore

On Saturday I stopped at Kinnegar Shore near Holywood.  I tried out my new extender for my camera and it gave some great results.  See photos below.

Groomsport

I went for a walk along the coast of Groomsport on the 10th May.  Good numbers of Whitethroat and Sedge Warblers had arrived.  Wrens were emerging from cover to join in with the singing.

Avocets at WOW

In April two avocets arrived at Belfast WOW!  They created a lot of excitement among the birding community.  I was lucky enough to watch them from one of the hides.

Co. Sligo

Over the Easter break I stayed in Sligo town.  I went to various places such as Rosses Point to birdwatch. I saw many different types of birds including: Treecreeper, Great Northern Diver, Razorbills, Fulmar, Ringed Plovers, Wheatear, Skylark, Rock and Meadow Pipits.

Leucistic Chaffinch

In April I spotted a Leucistic Chaffinch at Stormont Estate.  This was an interesting bird that you seldom see.  Here are the best photos.

Ballywalter

Here are two photos taken at Ballywalter beach in March.  Still getting to grips with the new camera.

Castle Espie

Back in March I checked out the WWT Reserve at Castle Espie near Comber. There has been a lot of investment towards the facilities since my last visit. The best spot of the day was the Greenshank.  It was a great chance to try out my new Canon camera that I got for Christmas.  Here are some photos.
