Parentis-en-born

I have recently returned from an 11 day holiday to France. I stayed at 2 different locations. The first place that I stayed at was called Parentis-en-born, south of Bordeaux. It was great for birdlife. Black Kites were extremely common and could be seen anywhere. There was also an abundance of Black Redstarts. I also saw Crested Tits and Nuthatches as well as mammals including Coypu and European Mink. Here are some of the best photos.

Parc Ornitholigique, Le Teich

While I was staying at Parentis-en-born I visited Le Teich Bird Reserve. This was excellent with a number of fantastic hides. I saw Black Kites, nesting White Storks, Great White Egret, Little Egrets, Spoonbills,  Greenshank, Spotted Redshanks, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Avocets and Black-Winged Stilts.
